Moving a state over from Texas to Louisiana was a smooth transition, and the laidback vibe of New Orleans welcomed me warmly. Tulane is an incredible university, and I've enjoyed learning about the city, meeting our professors, and making new friends. Although classes are at times challenging, pharmacology has captured my full interest, and I love every aspect of the program so far. Tulane’s strong community service engagement is an integral part of the university, and this is something that appealed to me when I chose to pursue graduate studies. New Orleans as a city embraces the idea of giving back, and I hope to do so as well while studying here. I started volunteering at KIPP New Orleans last week with two classmates, and was excited to meet our coordinator and help out around the school. We were assigned the task of moving books from storage to the library for re-organization. Along our route, we could see students in classrooms, and even passed a dance class where element
